You stole Vedder's punchline bro.

Tolerable because Kirg's taste is exceptional. Oh and the great minds thing too.

Pretty sure I called Chamberlain Waits the '59 Sound of 2010 in a soundoff a few months ago. Haha.

doesn't sound like anything new to me and I'm not a big fan of genres they are trying.... to mix.

At times it seems like a good punk song covered by glimpses of a alt rock 90's band... but then the saxophone fills creep in and the americana springsteen comes out and im left wonder why this is so popular.

but i guess the biggest problem i have is the punk/irish pub song voice/voices and comparison to being an americana band. the guy is singing with a fake british accent no? what better way to express your growing up in american i guess?

idk not a personal attack against toughs who like it. I was simply asked to give further explanation on my ratting.

who knows maybe ill hear this cd in a few years and get what everyone else is presumably "getting". but i dont see it at this time.

doesn't really sound like strong enough criticism to warrant a 1, but okay.

"the guy is singing with a fake british accent no?"

no.

also it's not even remotely popular at all, insofar as basically nobody's heard of this band yet.

Seriously, even if you don't like it, I don't see how anyone can rate this a 1 - you honestly think this is as bad as Justin Bieber? I don't see why people are rating this as a 3-3.5 and then putting Gaslight as a 4-5, when this is as good as if not better than everything post Sink or Swim that TGA have done.

SwayzeFaced: I give your reasons a 1/5.

Among other things, "but i guess the biggest problem i have is the punk/irish pub song voice/voices and comparison to being an americana band." is terribly awful to read and I don't really see what your point is.

In my opinion they fuse the sounds brilliantly

Oh wait, you have The Gaslight Anthem rated a 1 as well, and yet have Pablo Honey rated a 5? And a Mogwai B-sides and live album as a 5 as well?

Your opinion is evidently worthless anyway.

he's singing in a very very clear american accent and i have no clue what you mean by irish pub voices other than maybe the gang vox and that's not even very prevalent?

Great album. It kinda sucks that this site is making this out to be so good and popular and people who

normally wouldn't listen to this are now listening to it and being disappointed. Like that '1' rating?

Unnecessary.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm glad this is getting exposure, but people just can't go in expecting

too much because some guy said its this years '59 Sound.

Album was good but a little underwhelming imo. There were tiny instances that were very cool but there really wasn't a track so far that took it over the top bar the final one.

well the greatest thing about having a rating system is for opinions, if you don't value you mine tis really no concern of mine but im only using this open forum for what it's suppose to be used for which is posting an opinion. what you dont have to do is ridicule me because my musical taste doesn't match yours. which is probably the exact same reason why an album like Enslaved Axioma Ethica Odini is the number one rated album for 2010 on this website well above many other great albums not only in the metal or hardcore genre but all over the spectrum. which again is what i think and im not asking you to agree.

i also believe your a crazy person if you dont think he has british punk tunes in his vocals and hear sing songy flogging molly undertones in some of the versus.

that being said my rating is not a slam on people who like this music or people who like this band. its simple a reflection of my musical taste and to deny me of that would make you a communist.
