Possibly, man. I'm not an English accent specialist :D I have sensibly the same difficulties for English as yours for French. However, I can easily detect the British accent compared to most of Americans speaking.

Yes Québec is considered to be nearly a bilinguial province with clearly a majority of French speakers. Posters and signage and stuff are all in French though. I didn't know English wasn't your first language. Where are you from?

It's actually not. I'm from norway, but I've been exposed to english everyday for the last 12 years

Oh I see, that explains why English seems to be your mother tongue.
I thought Riverside was from Norway, but it seems not. Can you name me some famous bands around from your hometown?

tbh, nothing really famous ever comes out of here, except for some occasional billboard toppers. I actually can't think of a single band from Oslo. best I can come up with from norway is motorpsycho, but they're not from my part of the country.

Motorpsycho rules though. But I've just seen you also have the pop rock band A-Ha, and the progressive metal acts In The Woods... and Green Carnation.

@smaugman; I think these bands are not that well known, so don't worry ;)
As for Harmonium, compositions are genial everywhere, but we need to be patient with L'Heptade at places. It also lasts twice the time over Les 5 Saisons. The latter is more right in the face songs and is an instant treat. I equally enjoy both for different reasons.

l'heptade is almost too slow and calm for me

Smaugman, have you heard Seven Impale (https://sevenimpale.bandcamp.com/)? I'm pretty sure they're from your part of the world.

Seven Impale's ''City of the Sun'' is a good call. It has a lot of excellent parts, especially in ''heavy'' segments. Its soft parts would have needed more work. There are too often lack of cohesion between the heavy parts and the soft ones. It still deserves a 4 for me. I hesitated between a 4 and a 3.5 for a while.

is the lack of cohesion something similar to Trespass' problem?
|

No I can't relate since I don't see any lack of cohesion from Trespass, except maybe that Stagnation would be better 4 minutes shorter. Dusk would probably fit better as the ending song, and I would also see The Knife right after Visions of Angels (as the starter of side 2).
To me, the lack of cohesion in City of the Sun is found almost in each and every songs in the sense that their heavy parts are not in harmony with the soft ones at all, showing us that they are clearly better at composing heavy riffs, so I ask myself why they haven't concentrated on it.
