This is one of the bands I've been meaning to get into. I've listened to a few songs and like it alot-seems like Children of Bodom except slowed down a little.

What records would be recommended?

I'm in a pickle. 20 bucks, and stuck on amazon whether I should get this, my first Kalmha album(cheapest there), Borknagar,Eucharist, or older Primordial. Stormrider is for sure since it's 3 bucks, the other will be tough. Decisions decisions.

Listening to this now, forgot how good it is. That solo in the beginning of Dance of the Water is pretty neat

withering away and hades are unbelievably sick, very haunting and well thought out, kalmah are excellent and making powerful melodies

They have stayed so solid from this all the way to For the Revolution, it's hard to see that kind of concistancy today, especially in a melodeath band(Ya i'm talking to you Bodom, you broke my heart with Blooddrunk) but this is my second favorite Kalmah album, right after They Will Return

Kalmah's like Dark Tranquillity in the sense that anything they release is just plain solid.

^^Agree. Wheras Bodom is In Flames, early highly influential and amazing releases then everything just kinda started rolling downhill...
