I think you need to lay off the disco biscuits
ur jus gettin no luck, arent you?lol
this doesn't sound like a native English speaker...I mean, I've read your hardcore/other reviews and they're awesome but this is just plain weird man
Album Rating: 3.5
I read it fine!
...just don't know what to expect from the music.
i mean its not as odd on the mongo ninja review but yeah
just reread it again (3rd draft I'm guessing) and it sounds a lot better...still have no idea what the album sounds like though
what's wrong now?
Well in a way I get what you're trying to convey here, but at other times it really doesn't make any sense. There's a lot of broken sentences, some fragmented ones too, and some of your descriptions are pretty head scratching. The review does make me want to check this out only because I want to hear what this actually sounds like, because the review doesn't really give me a clear indication
let alone this witch house stuff
Stop saying witch house, these blog genres need to die. Give me a minute and I'll have a look through
Album Rating: 3.5
lol witch house.
oOoOO is something of a mystery. She or it or they or whoever is creating this lo-fi haunted house abstraction may just be a genius.
I know you touch on the apparent "mysterious nature" when you talk about the music later on, but opening with that and kind of dropping of for a minute isn't the best way to start. Second sentence reads awkwardly and is it even needed, really?
Coming at an awkward time I expect comparisons to recent phenomenon How To Dress Well.
Why is it an awkward time?
The merits are there but the approach is different.
Explain these merits
oOoOO is creating symphonic horror with exquisite undertones providing a delicate balance between intimacy and remoteness
Exquisite and intimacy aren't words I'd normally associate with horror, and it probably should read "creating a kind of symphonic horror" or something similar
This isn’t a difficult concept to understand as “Sedsumting” repeats “sound, sound, sound, sound…” ultimately conveying the effervescent goal.
Don't really know if effervescent is the right word when talking about looped vocals over r&b filled grooves that feature everything from "techno" to drone
Whether that goal is achieved with screeching synthesizers gliding serenely across tracks, like a majority of oOoOO employs, or the utilization of more physical instruments both drum and guitar – see the sleek “Hearts”, which provide a rugged backdrop for her voice to soar over.
Bit of a run on and a tad fragmented; you do the equation sentence of "whether that goal is achieved with 'a' or by 'b', but you don't provide the conclusion
Techno is a term not a genre, but that's just me being picky
Its like when someone says "electronica", its just a broad term
i dont even know
this is really solid so far. not sure if i'd give it a 4 but it's enjoyable
wait this isn't a joke review?
oOoOO is a one-man project, Damon now fix your intro.
Oh and sometimes a duet.
Album Rating: 4.0
anyone know where to find this other than the stream? i found a oOoOO download titled "CDR" with 6 songs but its not the same as the EP except a 2 songs. Im not sure if what i found was the other release in the database or not
witch house man its beast
i really hope someone screenshotted the first draft of this oh wait downer did it on page 3 and 4
Deep down, I feel like I should hate this.
