I have tickets for a show in December, so I hope this is really as good. Gonna listen to it soon.

Anyway, for starters I guess "White Light From the Mouth of Infinity" is the best, quite easy to listen to compared to many of their other albums.

Gira isn't a Christian, if that's what you are asking.

This is great, Gira's vocals remind me of Iggy Pop.

I could see myself listening to this a lot.

Good review. Interesting that you hypothesize that they revisted their discography and developed a cohesive sound based on the sum or parts of different eras.

I've been wanting to get into the Swans for a while, what's a good starting point?

Only Swans albums I've heard in full are Public Castration Is A Good Idea and Soundtrack for the Blind. I may or may not check this out, just cause Swans are kind of a chore to listen to at times.

Oh, and good review as always

Filth is a good starting point with Swans only if you're interested in their early, primal industrial stuff they've originally reached their cult status for. What I felt in love with was the more melodic and less harsh sound they have adopted after Jarboe came into the band and Gira became bored with the whole FUCK SHIT UP sound, and for that Children of God would serve you just fine.

The type of music is close to Post-punk.

It's more experimental I guess, some noise/industrial/folk shit going on..
