Have I mentioned how incredibly bad this album is? It's hard to believe someone could make music so uninspiring, bland and boring. Vocals are for the most part atrocious. Songs lead absolutely nowhere and just meander around the same pseudo chamber pop territory. I'm baffled by how many people have had good things to say about this album.

Apparently you can as you took the time to come up with some clever little insult because you disagree with me. I'm not trolling, I genuinely think this album is terrible and I've listened to it about 3 times now. I can't imagine how someone could enjoy listening to this guy meander along a piano and try to sound like Bryan Ferry. I'll give Antony credit for trying atleast, but I was greatly disappointed by this album after reading so many positive reviews. Just a completely forgettable record.

Antony is an easy artist to hate, so I'm not surprised if some people despise his work.

First heard him with Lou Reed on Animal Serenade, and then some other songs on NPR. Awesome unique voice.

Yeah I was being a bit over-the-top by saying his singing was atrocious, it's just that it doesn't appeal to me at all. His voice reminds me of someone trying very, very hard to sound like a mixture of Jeff Buckley and Bryan Ferry and not pulling it off. Having a good singing voice is all well and good if you use it properly, but on most of these tracks it just sounds like he's trying to show off his vocal range and completely forgetting about the musical arrangements and songs. None of the songs are particularly interesting enough to warrant multiple listens, the whole ordeal just comes off as an exercise by someone who should have all the right tools for a great album, but it just comes off mechanical and forced in every way when I listen to it.
That's just my take on it. I apologize for being a bit overly harsh.
