This is really nice, I expected less. Even the whiny vocals kinda fit.

Agreed about the keys. She really adds a lot. Reminds me of Sverd (Arcturus) at parts.

Paired with the band's solid grasp on tension and climaxes and Asleep Next to Science is much better than it needs to be.
Better than it needs to be? What does that even mean?

It means nobody expects it to work this well. Christ, Thor, if you're going to keep trying to troll me you're eventually going to have to figure out basic reading comprehension.

The vocals kinda sound like Billy Corgan meets Mew. I don't know if that's a good thing since I find Corgan's voice annoying but on the other hand dig Mew. I've only heard the first song and some previews though. But overall the music sounded good.

some of the lyrics you posted are different in the official booklet:
Sticking gum in sister's hair, or in the backyard burning ants
Shouldn't have stayed, I thought "oh fuck it, i'll play"
I'm the dinner guest with the hidden agenda.

I literally haven't talked to you in months. Trollers gon' troll.
And saying "better than it should be" articulates what you mean much better. The word "need" just doesn't really work.

I'm really starting to love the lyrics on this even if some of them are too cryptic to fully understand. The lyrics on "Something Beautiful" make the song better than it initially seems.

I had the same initial reaction when I first heard "Megaloblastic Madness" sometime last year but I can't get enough of them right now.

give it a few days, Insurrection, and you'll warm up to Adam's vocal approach on this album. most of the bands i listen to required me to do that and i'm glad i made the effort with most of them.

Vocals are really kind of annoying but there's just something about the vocal rhythms and lyrics that makes them catchy despite the odd shriekish quality.
Overall, album is great.
