Roman Candle is the GOAT - one of those albums which puts me in a zen no other album does

Last Call is one of Elliott's best songs and it does not get the attention it deserves.

I feel like this is one of those albums where every songs is genuinely equal. It's not my favorite elliott album but it might be the most consistent

Totally agree. I severely underrated this. I just listened to it kind of in the background a few years ago and liked enough, but never really returned to it. I was in the mood for some Elliott Smith the other day and not his usual stuff, so I decided to give this another listen. Been listening to it nonstop for the past couple days and will probably reach a 5 by the end of the week.

Not jammed Elliott for ages but I distinctly remember his discog having no duds whatsoever.

Narrowly beats Either/Or for best Elliott imo
E/O has his best song ("Between the Bars"), but this is my favorite overall package of Elliott's

I am finally starting my Elliott Smith exploration with this album. Kinda underwhelmed on first spin but hopefully it’ll be a grower.

Don't worry Boney, this album is a hard grower - my initial rating was a mid 3.5 and now it's only a hair away from a 5

Fair, yeah I guess this could have not been the best intro but I'm doing the chronological thing. Will give it time to sink in but it's also fully possible I may not totally appreciate this until I've heard the rest of his stuff. In any case I'm looking forward to hearing it all, based on everything I've read this discog is probably one of the most essential ones I've neglected.
