Oh, if you want hopeless then check the The Caretaker's "Everywhere at the End of Time" series. It's like this with 1920's dancehall music samples.

Ray Noble and his orchestra played dancehall music in the 30's, which were then sampled by The Caretaker. So. Dancehall music.

its good and all
but where are the radio hits?

Album Rating: 4.0
yes but it would be a really boring argument and would revolve around the same tired arguments for anything abstract not being art
|
| |
Anything could be argued
Whether that argument is wrong or not is another question
But making that particular argument would indeed be wrong
|
| |
Not that "this is not music" thing again.

I don't know if time to make = not music, that's a silly argument. Do they also think the entirety of free improvisational music isn't music?
What about live shows, considering live shows are also music made in the same amount of time it takes to listen to. I realise the same amount of time to make isn't the same as less time, but the experimentation of music through simple looping and how it changes doesn't really discredit the end result. Effort doesn't equal quality, quality equals quality.
