i started discovering better bands from their time, such as the beach boys and the zombies. without context, the beatles were amazing, but after hearing so many better albums of the same or similar genres my perspective of the beatles depreciated a little.

the beach boys, pet sounds taken into consideration, are not better than the beatles. for the classic they have, the beatles have like 7

zombies maybe, but they only had that one amazing album.

well yeah, the zombies only had that one album, but the beatles' discography isn't that impressive. i used to argue in favor of them being one of the greatest bands of all time, but once i actually started to listen through their discography i realized that a lot of their albums didn't work well in their entirety.

The thing with The Beatles that I find is that a lot of those similar artists are blatantly copying their style, as they did it first. Whether some did it better is a different matter, but it's still lacking in innovation if they did anyway. That's a lot of the reason why i say The Beatles were better, not to mention being way more consistent than those bands in comparison over their discography. The beach boys really had some god awful albums, much worse than those worse of the beatles imo

pet sounds, as good as it is, can't match this
