Haha Rococo is really the only track I skip. Honestly I thought this album was pretty weak at first but over time man it grew on me a ton! Really have a lot more respect for this album. Will say it has surpassed Neon Bible for me making it their 2nd best ,behind Funeral of course. They deserve all the credit they get for making this one.

You never trust a millionaire, quoting the sermon on the mount, I used to think I was not like them but I'm beginning to have my doubts, my doubts about it

Yeah I mean I wouldn’t call it one of my favorites here but it’s still a great song.

This album is just what it is and I’m drunk - argue at your peril

I still rate this a 4.7 even if I haven’t really listened to it in years, as with other Arcade Fire the nostalgia is strong with this one.

It hasn't got the magic of 'Funeral' - that's more a 4.7 for me. This is just a solid 4 - ideally I'd have edited this down a tiny bit, just 10-15% of the fat removed and this would have been so much more appealing down the line.

"what's wrong with rococo?"

It's has terrible lyrics

And this definitely needed an edit agreed. Would've been a fairly strong 4.0 from me then

Man for the longest time I thought this was a boring slog aside from a few standouts but it's really hitting a sweet spot right now.

This is one of the few albums that I think sort of benefits from the somewhat bored atmosphere it creates.

Empty Room is still the best song.

I can see where you're coming from with that, this album is a lot about celebrating/reminsicing on the monotony of adolecsnce in a suburban town.

Yeah, for sure. That's why I think it supports the songwriting rather than hinders it.

This wouldn't be a 5 if I hadn't first heard it as a depressed high schooler but it also wouldn't be a 5 if it didn't still mostly hold up for me which it absolutely does.

I miss being able to call this their weakest album.

It helps to be able to relate. Without a strong personal connection, I do not fault anyone that cannot get into this at all.

Neon Bible was always worse that this, Sandy. (I'm gonna start calling you Sandy)
