This is already really tired. It's just some fad for people who don't realize that this is just surf rock/pop punk that's really underproduced. Lo-fi doesn't make something automatically good or better than it was before, it's an ethic, that, when used properly, can lead to spectacular results. However, I'm sure we all are aware neither Wavves nor Best Coast are using lo-fi in such a manner.
