I love this band so much but I tend to only listen to their stuff when it is new and relevant...like I basically stopped listening to The Sound of Madness two years after its release.
I'm sure if they put out something new though I'd dig it.

And even though I don't listen to them so excessively like I did a couple years ago, this band will always be one of my favorites. I'll love anything they put out at this point.

I've realized that this album is now my favorite from them. Not a weak track on this.

I just meant his vocals are less intense than on Leave A Whisper, more restrained. His vocals definitely rule on this, and I actually prefer his performance on this overall even though most fans would disagree with me on that.

Your stock standard american hard rock band. Its tight, its clean, its pitch perfect. It does everything musically right to perfection. Its nice for an occassional listen but i wouldnt be blaring this one out of my stereo as the neighbours might laugh at me (in OZ). Its like alot of american hard rock music they tend to lack a bit of the true real angst and real grit thats crucial for making me feel not like a wimpy fake goth like creature/dufus. I cant hold that against it though its still good. But seriously if you want real hard rock that doesnt scream comercial and mainstream like a blockbuster movie you may need to venture to other countries. Sorry USA. You do have some quality music just not in this genre IMO. But i do love you all.

I love how rhythmically complex the bridge/outro riff in "Beyond the Sun" is for the genre; the bridge goes in a sequence of 9/8, 13/8, 9/8 again, and finally 12/8 before resolving back into common time, while the outro uses 9/8 and 12/8. I wonder how Shinedown's music would turn out if they decided to experiment some more with unusual time signatures?
EDIT: oh, and hi Ties

Out of curiosity, what's up with all the hate for this album? O.o I haven't really seen a huge amount of explanation (personally).
