Most people believe an album should be reviewed as one piece of work rather then seperate pieces. You wouldn't
review a movie based on certain scenes would you?

A movie is completely different, because scenes in a movie are completely intertwined by things like plot and characters. A song, well the only real connection to the song after it (at least on this album) is its placement on the album.

Track-by-tracks just get tedious, it's better to just describe the strengths and weaknesses of the album and use songs as examples.

It's good to know what song to start with to really get into an album, and some bands have completely different-sounding songs, so one song may appeal much more than another.

Exactly. Another time when tbts are helpful is with compilations, like the "Punk Goes..."
