I wouldn't particularly call it pop-punk. The title track, "Blister", and "Crush" have that kind of energy, but the album as a whole doesn't quite fit the normal pop-punk mold. Don't get me wrong. It's one of my favourite albums but I wouldn't call it pop-punk.

I think Jude law and the semester abroad deserves a 10/10

I haven't heard a lot of Brand New, but the accent surprised me a bit when I first heard "The Quiet Things.."

great album, i got this way before deja came out so you can imagine my surprise when i heard the change in deja, its all good though, but yeah seventy-times seven just hit me like a ton of bricks one day, driving in my car soon after purchasing the cd, when the bridge brokedown it just took me into a crazy carwreck/teenage breakup metaphor, i had never heard such hateful lyrics on a pop-punk cd, i was forced to rewind only to realize that it all worked, it was the best bridge id ever heard- not to mention all the behind the scences meaning it has with taking back sunday and the two songs with the same lyrics "is this what you call tact...." when i heard that line in that TBS song soon after, i flipped my lid, it was like discovering a rumor was true. but the beat thing of all was when brand new played 70 X 7 live and then got to the bridge and played that TBS sunday verse about brand new (or jesse however it all goes) and then brand new throws there guitars in the air, does 360's and immediatly jamming right back into "so is that what you call a getta-way..." it was so crazy and everyone knew the brand new and tBS lyrics and the crowd was going bannanas. It was a definnative moment in my rock and roll experience on this earth!

This album is a very good album, at first the songs are very addictive and the lyrics are very deep indeed. However as years pass by and whenever I listen to this album again, I realize that some of the lyrics and its motives are very immature and shallow. "Their just jealous because we are young and in love" and "We are the coolest kids in town" suggest this. From my own opinion, the music and the imagery of the lyrics are good but its meaning and the way it is conveyed spoils it a little. However this is still a really good album to listen to.
