I didn't like Doublespeak at first but it grew on me considerably. I'd have to go with The Weight as my favorite though.

FromtheInside- I do think Music Box is the weakest song on Vheissu, but it is still a solid song. I like the lyrics escpecially. Atlantic can grow tiresome, but I adore it because of the water atmosphere it creates; and Red Sky? Man, that's probably my favorite Thrice song ever. Interesting!

I thought The Alchemy Index was a bit on the weaker side with Earth and Fire... They captured the mood well, but too many of the songs felt mediocre to me.

Open Water, The Whaler, Burn the Fleet etc... are all exceptional songs. The Whaler in particular is probably one of my favourite songs of all time.

I do agree with you! I enjoyed Burn The Fleet, Firebreather, and The Flame Deluge, but not the others so much. I found most of my favorites on the Water album, actually. Including The Whaler!

yeah dude, the emotion in the Whaler just raises the hair on my arms every time I listen to it. It's such a visual, haunting song.

Definitely! i was hoping that The Great Exchange would have the same effect- it had a great story, and if it had been given the same emotional level of music that The Whaler had, it could have been a very powerful song.

yeah man, I feel you. The Great Exchange and Doublespeak are the only songs I consistently skip on this record. Aside from that every other song is solid. Circles is probably my favourite song on this.

It took Daedalus a long time to grow on me, actually. I know I'm a freak because that's the Alchemy song that most people love but for some reason I just didn't dig it for a while. I've recently realized how good it is, though.
Favorite song by them has to be Stand and Feel Your Worth, followed closely by Of Dust and Nations.

I can never decide between The Earth Will Shake or For Miles as my favorite over all Thrice song, both are so crushing and powerful.
As for the Alchemy Indexes, Milly Michaelson has always been one of my favorites. Really overlooked song. Backdraft, The Flame Deluge, Lost Continent, Night Diving, the Whaler, and Daedalus are also up there.

Song for Milly Michaelson... yeeesssss.... Saw them headline back in October and they played it. Started mellow and subdued like on the album but they built it up to a massive crescendo by the last chorus. Epic.
