Released after their debut proper, 'No Singles' is a retrospective compilation of 2 self-released out-of-print EPs by Canadian garage rock duo Japandroids. Despite being remastered, the raw lo-fi production is still apparent, with the distorted guitar riffs & pounding drums clearly taking center stage. Interestingly sequenced in reverse chronological order, the more diverse 'Lullaby Death Jams' comes before the more exuberantly catchy 'All Lies'. Ultimately, this is a worthwhile - if very hit & miss - release, which fans will find intriguing, if nobody else. Recommended Tracks: Darkness on the Edge of Gastown, Couture Suicide & Sexual Aerosol.
