Review Summary: Great album made up of the best components of hip-hop music.
This album is an analytical story of Caparezza's insight's to modern society. It's a depiction of his individual take of various happenings and topics in today's world. Albeit the hidden messages are concealed due to the different language and can only really be interpreted by a small minority on this site. However, his work isn't solely made out of strong, cryptic lyrics. The music ranges from hip-hop , rock and even some metal.
Throughout the album catchy riffs and tunes are heard in various tacks such as Ilaria Condizionata, Abiura Di Me and Io diventero qualcuno. As i previously stated he isn't glued to a particular genre and tends to experiment, quite successfully, with several others. However, seeing himself as a rapper would mean lyrics are centre stage in each song. Metaphors and double meanings are seen countless times across the album, even in the song title Ilaria Condizionata. The firs word relates to a woman he is speaking about but is actually a substitute for "Italia" to mean "conditioned italy". Various others song portray Caparezza's perplexing lyrics about life, politics and well, nearly any other topic.
If people were to listen to a song and instantly reject it due to the different language it would make no sense. Music, in itself, is a language. It's spoken all across the world and all can understand it. Admittedly, some part of the overall experience of listening to Capa' is lost if you don't understand what he's saying. But, it doesn't create an excuse for not listening to it at all. Do drums, guitar and bass have a language?
I believe this to be one of the best albums on my computer. The whole concept of creating an album with catchy riffs, intense lyrics and even make it into a story really appeals to me. Caparezza brings together great aspects of hip-hop music into most, or all, of his songs. Seriously recommended.
