I used to Love this album. Then I sat back and listened and realized that Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman were merely masturbating the fretboard on every song. Still good for the occasional listen though.

I remember when I first got this, I was driving home and I was literally pounding my head into the steering wheel cause I was so into it...
I think the drivers behind me thought I was having a seizure cause they were riding me at first, and then backed off a lot.

I think the album boasts three classics; 'Angel Of Death', 'Postmortem' and 'Raining Blood'. All the other songs are still amazing but just can't match those three IMO.

Honestly, I think "Postmortem" isnt as good as everyone thinks. I enjoy it, but i think "Jesus Saves" is a lot better, and same with "Criminally Insane".

yea, "South of Heaven" has some killer lyrics. But "Bron-Yr-Aur", without Kerry writing, we wouldn't have such classic lines such as:
"High priest awaiting dagger in hand
Spilling the pure virgin blood
Satan's slaughter, ceremonial death
Answer his every command" - Altar of Sacrifice
OR
If we just had Jeff do them...
"Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Infamous butcher,
Angel of Death" - Angel of Death
But still, Slayer lyrics are still cool, but "South of Heaven"s are the best, so hooray for Tom!
