I was told by someone at the record store today that this was essential. I'll be checking it out asap.

This is simply amazing... I'm in the middle of an intense grind/deathgrind phase, I basically listened to every significant grind band that I could find, so honestly I thought I reached the point of scraping the bottom barrel when I played this album. Boy was I wrong! This is incredible, and most likely a very influential deathgrind album. I liked Need to Control, but this is even better.

I have a question though: I heard the remastered version of this, and certain drum parts produce a brief, "thin", high-pitched sound, kinda like the (annoying) sound of a plastic pen tapping on a table... I especially hear this when listening to certain albums with earphones (I know the original version of Lagwagon's Trashed has similar issues on a few songs). The "tapping pen" sound is always simultaneously accompanied by a lower, "fuller", more typical drum-pounding sound. Can anyone explain this?

Lord of This World, featured as a bonus track on the '95 re-issue has a bong rip audio sample. Made me lol

This is one of those bands that are respected only because the some young metalhead was lectured by some balding asshole in a leather jacket with giant eye glasses outside of a shitty venue somewhere on how brutal truth was so important to its genre. When really, all you have to do is listen to how boring and uninteresting this album really is.

Oh wow! He brought his "power tools" to the studio to throw it into the mix. How unique.

do you think he used his power tools on the record because he knew he would be a construction worker soon after the album was released?

Courage has a point.. and yea this album gets boring. I can respect what it did for the genre but again, some music is made to become outdated.
