anybody else notice how the intro is (likely) heavily influenced by Coma of Soul's intro on When the Sun Burns Red?

Coma of Souls is one of those albums no one ever talks about when referring to metalcore's all-encompassing unoriginality.

except this is heavily thrash influenced, so yeah.

Never knew what genre to call this tbh.

I actually need to hear Edge of the Earth again but I remember that, although high in quality, the album drags somewhat towards the middle imo. Need to re-check.
Anyway this band has grown a bit on me at least. Hope they release new stuff this year.

Middleton’s playing really shines here, amazing guitarist.

After Lifeless Years is still one of the most impressive singles I've ever heard.

This is still a great album. Honestly think Jamie's vocals are a bit better for this band than Josh's. Either way, very hyped for the new album from these guys.

New single is not as good as I Sever, but still solid

The new single is pretty meh for me. Honestly it feels like for the past couple releases this band has been missing some of the heaviness they had on their earlier stuff.
Not that Sylosis was ever extremely heavy sounding or anything, but that intensity has just been absent lately. Hard to put my finger on exactly what it is but their last album and these latest 2 singles are just more boring?
It's still enjoyable but when I compare it to Conclusion of an Age and Edge of the Earth, it's easy for me to say which era of Sylosis was better.

my problem with everything past their first two is it just sounds like theyve run out of ideas. the riffs all sound like slight variations of riffs they already did on the previous albums.
