Talking Heads was so far from it I didn't rate it

velvet underground is drug influenced but not psych and Boris I defff see it in the first track but thats just cuz of reverb/circular riffs

...and incredible as well

It makes me sad that this style of prog was never tried again by an other modern prog rock band. They just try to be "heavy" by contemporary means. No one tries to write monolithic yet simple heavy riffs and just act a little bit crazy at the studio like these guys did. It just shows how unique musicians the guys from KC were.

There's always been amazing chemistry between Bruford and Fripp too.

Bruford's loose drumming style gave Fripp license to construct his trademark jagged, atonal riffs.

Not a prog band, but 03-06 era Kayo Dot kinda did this style in a different way. Hubardo even more so, but that was even later on.

KC are definitely the most rewarding out of the so-called 'Big 4' of prog.

Every time I jam their classic era material I hear something new.

Can't believe it's been over a year since I listened to this album, I'm putting it on right now. Such a masterpiece. Can't decide if Red or Starless is the better song :'(

2 songs were easy 4/5, 1 was a 3/5, 1 was a 2.5/5 and 1 was a 1.5/5

guess the tracklist based off that lmao
