At first, I really disliked this, but it's definitely a grower. If you view the pieces more as poems than as songs, it really is awesome. But, yeah, I can see why people dislike it as well.

not sure where else to post this but sage did an acoustic version of the Baby Stays, Hell of a Year (from human the death dance) and Best of Times for the BBC. I've been digging it all day, and I don't really like the baby stays or Hell of a Year on their respective records.... it does away with the corny, overproduced suckage for beats and it sounds really good.

when this came out, I was really disappointed. I thought the beats were weak and the lyricism was mediocre. listening to it today again though, I liked it a lot more especially lyrically. I think he wasn't trying to be quotable, he wasn't trying to impress people so much.. the lyrics are more poetic and cohesive. anyways, I think this is a huge step up from human the death dance (which aside from a couple sweet tracks, sucked way more imo).



... but I'm also a mega sage fanboy so you can probably discount my opinion haha.
