I like it all, right now I love the part halfway through Zodiac Shit when the drum and bass groove starts. So fucking awesome.

4.5 based on Mmmmhmmm-Astral Plane alone

Would be a 4.5 if it weren't for Mmmmmhmmm.

Can't say it's great for every environment. I generally like to be moving around some way when listening to it.

Either that or at night. I usually listen to it in my car or on the train to school though. It's just awesome.

Very much so. Sort of transcend the boundaries of beatmaking. Or rather fuses the concept of texture based music and DJ-esque mix based music.

And jazz. I usually feel like people say stuff is jazzy when it really isn't or just because it's kind of weird, and it's become really cliche and doesn't really mean anything most of the time. It's a pet peeve of mine actually, but this album def has that feel to it.

I generally see jazz music as something with a set theme(whether that be a rhythm, a subtle melody etcetera), but yet permits the music to cover ground outside of said theme, yet complements it.

Of course that's the vague definition. I'm sure the more specific definition involves the various rhythmic elements of it to improvisation to swing etcetera

I'd say your thing about the "theme" works pretty well in a general sense, but classical music does the same thing, with the expostion of a theme, variations, a second theme, return to the first theme, etc.

Still though, it's hard to define things like this.

I think classical is almost the opposite of transcending above the theme, seeing as every sound and note in classical music revolves around the basic structure, yet just constantly expands that structure, as seen in movements.

That's true also I guess, so I'm out of ideas on that one haha. Whatever people mean when they say "jazzy" though, this album is it.
