This album is a little catchy, but it ain't metal for us metal fans here. Bullet for my Washing Line again disappoint with such a release when they can do so much better. Mainstream Metal...one can actually make good mainstream metal and not come across as candy ass wannabes.

and I apologise to all the candy-ass wannabes out there. :p

The riffs are heavy enough to retain fans of their debut, but catchy enough to keep those that prefer the sophomore album.
well, I haven't listened to any BFMV for some time now, but as far as I remember, Scream Aim Fire was actually heavier with a solid dose of thrashyness added to counterweight the poppy side. The Poison sounded much more like straight pop-metal to me than Scream Aim Fire.

Anyway, excellent review Trey and I would've said the same if someone else had written this [or you under an alt ;)]

This album is not tr00. Nah jk idk yet havent heard it. But I probably wont and dont want to. First of all whats with the claw? Is there an in depth meaning to it? Or was the girls original hand to small to cover her boob? Btw is that song 'Pleasure and Pain' a cover of Judas priest songs 'Pain and Pleasure' just flipped? Im content with there old stuff...nty I dont want to hear SAF in a different light..

I'm with you on this one Willie. Its a good, fun album. Not everything has to have some huge meaning behind it. It serves its purpose, and they do poppy metal better than alot of radio metal bands out there.

Good review man. There really isn't anything special about this album at all but none the less it is a pretty good listen. I've been enjoying it quite a bit. It's got some very pointless filler songs but it also has 5 or 6 good ones.

The only songs I found worthwhile were Your Betrayal, A Place Where You Belong, Alone, Breaking Out, Breaking Down, and maybe The Last Fight. The rest was way too simple and generic for me.

from the very beginning I tried to find fun on the disc. This isn't even entertaining, this is mullet in my Balentine's

Thanks everyone. I assumed that most of this site would disagree with me, but oh well. Besides, without a positive review how could we get cute little users like BucketSamurai out in the open to share their hilarious wit?

I've only listened to the album 3 times, I forget how Pleasure and Pain goes. I'll give it a listen.

Good review, by the way.

Breaking Out, Breaking Down is actually a damn catchy song. I'm turning around to this album a bit.

There's a lot of kind of boring songs on there, but the aforementioned song and A Place Where You

Belong are actually pretty good. The Last Fight and Begging For Mercy aren't half bad either.

Pleasure and Pain would be better, though while the whole album is terrible lyrically, it's one of the

songs where I'd be thoroughly humiliated to play it in front of people.

Might have to bump my rating up to 3 for the time being...

was gonna say that this seemed like a response to other reviews rather than a straight-off review of its own before i saw your comment. nevertheless it's convinced me to pick this up because my girlfriend is all over SAF and the title track's catchy and cool. so i'll listen later.

I cannot believe you did not mention how horrible the lyrics are on this CD. I mean songs like "Fever" and "pleasure and Pain" sound like they were written like a 12 year old. They were never great lyricists before, but they stumbled downhill with this release. Also the whisper part on "your betrayal" was not a good idea. I think they had a chance to redeem themselves, but the lyrics just bring it down.

Taken From the Review:

As far as the lyrics go, they’re still pretty generic and cheesy but that didn’t seem to affect fans of the last few Metallica albums (a fan base that could probably appreciate this album).

Metallica fans ate up that album because they're manipulable fanboys.

Ive never liked BFMV, but they've had a few decent songs here in there. This is ridiculously awful though.
