I remember first listening to this half-asleep and thinking it was magical. There's something so special about his songwriting -- toes the line between saccharine and impassioned better than most.

This reminds me of sputdays gone by, back when folk was getting a lot of attention. This used to get bumped on a regular basis. Good times.

A new album is coming out in April and the new song, "The Running Styles of New York," is breathtakingly beautiful. Kinda reminds me of Horrible Crowes era Brian Fallon.

If the new album is as good as the new track I might just have to instant 5 it. It might be my SOTY right now.

Yeah, I love the new song, too. Has that beautiful, sad wistfulness I adore on this album.

new one is gorgeous, yeah. glad that kristian's gone from nostalgic folk to total sad-sack music; repurposing his immaculate melodies as knives for diggin into yr fuckin soul.
