Agreed. This is their most dull effort. I find the middle of this album is pretty great though, 'Stylo' 'Superfast Jellyfish' 'Empire Ants' and 'Glitter Freeze' are all fun. But the first 4, and final 7 tracks sound really uninspired. Pitty, i really enjoy their first two LPs

I guess it doesn't help that it has personal competition with Demon Days (one of my favorite albums ever), but something feels off with Plastic Beach. I think my main problem is that the album declines after the stellar first half. From "Some Kind of Nature" to the end, most of it isn't really distinct of worth listening to. "Empire Ants" is beautiful, though. Definitely one of the band's best songs.

It's a bit of a frustrating listen sometimes, and some of the songs should have been cut. (Hello Glitter Freeze, Super Fast Jelly Fish, Sweepstaks) But I love this album for it's variety of styles, it's genre hopping and that Snoop Dog Intro.
They need to make a new album...
