I don't see how you guys aren't bored by this. So many guests that it's hardly Gorillaz anyway. They aren't Massive Attack, they aren't supposed to have guest vocalists on nearly every song.
| | | Too many guest appearances or not, I still enjoy most of the songs. Snoop Dogg's contribution was pretty weak though.
| | | soooo dope
| | | "3 of 14 thought this review was well written"
Harsh. I've seen far worse reviews get lots of pos's
not that it matters, of course

Have to agree with eternium, just a glance at the tracklist makes me cringe. I'm also disappointed that the 3rd album didn't turn out to be the soundtrack to the movie they were working on at some point (I didn't hear this was that soundtrack, anyway).
Hopefully, if this sucks, they stick around to make one final proper Gorillaz album, with minimal guest appearances. The lack of Damon's voice really hurts their sound, imo.

MRyrtmrnfoudly it's actually all we are is dust, listen reaaaaaal close, I thought it was stars too until I looked it up.

Is that what you decided when you created Gorillaz Damon? To not have a lot of guest appearances?
Who are you to say what the Gorillaz should sound like?

Oh nobody, just someone who listens to the band, probably buys a few of their things, thinking with a brain & giving feedback accordingly.
Ya know... a fan of their music. Not all fans of a band or music think alike, contrary to popular opinion on the interwebs.
Please, get off on your plea for equality, tolerance, & pluralism.
There's also a difference between having guest spots on some to half of the album, with Damon being the main vocalist throughout all songs (see the last 2 albums, including G-Sides & D-Sides), to having guest spots on most tracks, with Damon's voice taking a backseat.
The moment you release anything for public scrutiny, it is no longer really yours (i.e. others have copies of your work, which means by proxy, they share ownership in a nebulous concept called "reputation").
Anyone can derive an idea from it, anyone can criticize it, anyone can praise it, & the fans take part in all of this. If a fan wants to dump on an album he spent part of his paycheck on (or some of his bandwidth, risking getting caught by the RIAA for downloading), & thought it sucked, there's nothing stopping him/her from doing it.
It's nice to see experimentation & different ideas, but just because someone thinks of an idea doesn't automatically make it a good idea.
Just now I thought of a mashup of Britney Spears & Avril Lavigne, with diaherra sounds backmasked in the gaps between tracks.
Yeah, it's rubbish.
TL;DR: What's wrong with your FAAAAAAAAAACE?!

I could minimize that entire statement down to the word derp, and it would still be as efficient (or inefficient) as what you just said

Pretty solid album, at a 3.5 for me at the moment, could possibly jump to a 4.

Translation: "Your argument is stupid because it is stupid, lulz!"
Escape the circular logic, & failed ad-hominem, & please try again.

Really good album in that it works as a whole really well, got it's own sound that it carries through to the end that was missing off the past two LPs... but still, even if Demon Days lacked that aspect, I still prefer it. It pretty much shook up my whole musical outlook.
