"utterly incredible from start to finish. fucking god tier. "

yes

"The transition from Careless Whispers/The Star Compass/Azure Azure and Trade Winds, White Heat is like renaissance Disney level cinematic"

Yeah, especially careless Whispers to The Star Compass is just insanely good, when all the static of The Star Compass just dissipates for that 30 seconds and it's like the world just opens up. I also feel like I slept way too much on 7000 miles when I was first getting into this. So good

I want to try my hand at a review for this. But it's really just going to sound like a lot of gushing

Lol there are definitely albums like that for me, it feels so daunting to try and do justice to one of your faves...

my friend in high school did a video project about SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE [I wasnt in that class and have never read that book] with war footage played in reverse and "i'm transmitting tonight" and it was so deep tbh

Gotta check this/more Hecker in general as I am diggin a bit more into ambient/drone of late and I really like his approach to texture from the albums I've heard and bits of others that I've sampled.
