i really like this but also feel like there's wasted potential. 'angel echoes' and 'love cry' both have that excellent organic quality oft praised in four tet's music and both kick complete ass, but from there something loses me. i think he actually might be overdoing it in the next few tracks, though it all comes back together in the closer, which arguably outdoes the first two. still really good.

to be honest this is the one of a small few releases for which repeat listens and a change of opinion
seem to be beckoning (especially considering how much i enjoy the tracks i enjoy on this), so a
switch might be on the horizon--all it needs is a little 'bump'. my experience thus far, though, has
been enjoying it pretty immensely, hearing 'circling' and thinking it will be great, and then there's
just one part of the song where some sort of extra layer or sound is applied and i go 'eurgh'
and then sort of slog it out until 'she just likes to fight'. but yeah, i have trust in this dude.
still has a spot on my top 25, albeit low

one of my favourite albums ever. Met him earlier this year and had like a 30 minute conversation with him. gahhh. NEVER BEEN HAPPIER. then a couple of hours later i saw him play an amazing set in an empty swimming pool. would be surprised if i ever see a better show
but yeah this album rocks
