I love the production. It has such a raw atmosphere.

You can make everything out. even the bass, which is quite present and engaging at all times.

the production is fine, you can hear every instrument and that's all you can really ask for.

Hangman's Hymn is pretty hard to digest, I got into Sigh with Imaginary Sonicscape but haven't enjoyed any of their other albums as much

Looking to download and/or buy at the moment.

If I wasn't a huge fan of Hangman's Hymn (which I currently have at a 3/5) will I like this any more or less? Imaginary Sonicscape is a 5/5 for me btw, and those are the only two of their albums I have in full.

what were your thoughts on HH?

Well I gave it a 3/5. To be fair I haven't heard it in over a year but I gave it several listens and nothing stood out to me besides the first few seconds of the first song and the chorus of "Me-Devil," probably only because I chuckle at how the front man screams "devil" with a sterotypical asian accent.

hmmm... well, to be honest, this sounds absolutely nothing like Imaginary Sonicscape and holds a strong resemblance to HH but takes a lot of influence from their earlier work too. Cocaine is right when he said it's a mix of their styles, but I doubt you'd like it very much.

I'm on the third track right now and I like it a lot actually. Could be a 4/5.

I might like Hangman's Hymn now, I heard it at the end of 07 and couldn't get into it. Then I got Imaginary Sonicscape about a year later and liked it immediately, but I didn't decide to up it to a 5/5 until a month or so ago. I'll give Hangman's Hymn another shot.

after long hours of consideration I have decided that Musica In Tempora Belli is the best song Sigh ever wrote.

I've listened to this at least half a dozen times today and really can't dig it. I'll try again a few times in the coming days. I never could get into this band, and this album doesn't seem to be changing that.

I'm giving IS another listen now, and digging it a whole lot more.

Might as well give their entire discography a couple spins.
