Nah, but still good

Yeah YHF tops this and so does Being There. "Via Chicago" might be the best song from any of the three albums though. It's a close race between that and "Sunken Treasure" for me.

This is my favourite Wilco, think it helps it was my intro to them though.

I have 12 song nighttime playlists for a lot of bands and played my Wilco one last night...the tunes on this one stood out as my faves, mixtapes are a good test

That makes sense, this one’s definitely the most tuneful Wilco album.

There’s a lot of Beatles/Beach Boys homage but there’s just something about it that stil seems fresh

Absolutely - and I happen to rate it above anything the Beatles or Beach Boys ever did.

Not quite Pet Sounds for me (nothing is), but it is extremely well written. Had to bump both this and YHF.

I was gonna hear A Ghost first. Is Being There very countryish or close enough to this?

Good I am glad we are on the same page here
|
| |
yeah, the 16th page HA HAAAA
but yeah idk i always for some reason think these old popular indie albums or whatever are gonna be a beautiful musical revelation but then i listen to them and it's like it's just poppy garbage? ? ?

I mean that’s valid I guess. Sounds a bit like you’re judging more based on what you thought they would be than what they actually are. But yeah this is mostly just poppy stuff, really damn good poppy stuff mind you’d though I’d argue songs like Shot in the Arm and Via Chicago have a bit more going for them than that.

Opposite for me. I was expecting pretentious hipster trash like Neutral Milk Hotel and then was pleasantly surprised it's just good poppy stuff haha. Jk that album is okay but this is more my speed.
