>Arghoslent, sadly, is good.
good example of a band that overrelies on aesthetic
armoured angel's one and only LP (not the stuff before it though) is also in that vein btw

Can't really argue with that.

the funny thing is arghoslent isnt even really melodeath
the guitarists write material that is pretty clearly taking after trad metal and uspm, rather than any in flames / dark tranq / at the gates / what have you, filtered through a dm aesthetic with growls and cutting all the 80s cheese
so if you're too poser to know the good trad bands, or if you can't stand their vocals or their lyrics or their image, arghoslent are prob a more palatable edgy re-imagining
same with gbk and everything else those two guitarists have worked on that i know of
i think theres potential there, its a cool combination of songwriting and aesthetic but that band in particular is hardly worth the hype
i also recall the chasm doing smoething similar at some point but its been a long time will have to revisit

Opening riff to t/t ignites my soul

I am glad the black metal community unanimously agrees this is the greatest bm album. I dislike traditionalists who still pretend 90s bm is peak bm. This is the new king.

"No idea, I'm curious myself. All I know is that last.fm erased their page from their site on racism allegations. Funny thing is that they haven't banned all those shitty metal bands singing about cannibalism, human sacrifice and church arson."
they were out and out NSBM before, then they "renounced their views", then in the mid 2010s they just gave up pretending that was the case and began attending NSBM festivals again, so while they may not have publicly stated something like "WHITE POWER" you can really only draw one conclusion from that history
a true shame, I can't really bring myself to listen to this album anymore

It’s hard to tell with these guys on their current views. They obviously haven’t put out and racist songs since Weltanschauung, but as previously said they’re still attending racist festivals.
Not too long ago I actually came across Varggoth’s Facebook page, where he supported the people under dictatorship in Belarus, and has even shut down some people spouting racial hatred in his comments.
That being said, he still posted some sketchy shit, so my interpretation is he is about as racist as your stereotypical racist grandma from the US south, but not a straight up Nazi anymore
