Great review. Like too many great bands, the greatness of this record is always going to be compared with their other greats. Great, great, great.

Great review.

Sigur Ros is easily one of my favorite bands and I'm glad to see them getting more attention on Sputnikmusic. Review was great, as always, Greg. You get a pos vote from me. Saeglopur is outstanding.

So you recommend this over ( )? That's all I've listened to and it's pretty amazing.

Thanks Dante! They do seem to be a sputnik favorite lately.

Yes, I think this better than untitled, but each of the band's albums are very different. If you liked that one a lot, you may or may not like this one. Takk is not quite as ambient or expansive as untitled; it has a loft of builds and climaxes, which happen to be the reason why I love it so much.

Saeglopur is a pretty emotional song for me; it's also the one that got me into Sigur Ros.

That's a good point: this one is generally more happy-sounding, especially hoppipolla.

I think Dante is refering to how the band is recently getting a lot of attention I suppose. They're always been a sputnick favorite but as far as comments go.

Yeah, but haven't you noticed as of recently more people seem to be taking interest? *Edit* Didn't see your comment, Greg.

Do you not like "Heysatan"?

Probably my least favourite Sigure Ros tune outside of some of the Von stuff, and that god awful Ara Batur song from their new one. It's like the boring parts of a Sigur Ros song for four minutes without any of the good parts. When I saw them in Toronto they opened with it and I wanted to tear my hair out, set the mood for the rest of the show.

oh, and good review by the way. pos'd

Great review. Great album. The only reason its not a 5 for me is because the last 3 songs don't always keep me listening to the whole album. Most of the time, I'll hear Gong and then put something else on.
