I haven't heard this album but I like the review. Sadly, it sounds like the only attempt at originality is a song about Halo, but whoops!, that was done already by Escape the Fate (Twice!), which makes me want to listen to this album even less.

what ETF songs are about halo..?



and i bet headshot is better...

ETF has a song called the Guillotine (1st Album) which is supposed to be about Halo and a song called This War is Ours (The Guillotine II) (2nd Album) which is supposed to be about Halo 2.
This War is Ours is probably better than Headshot...but I'll check it out, the guitar solo in the ETF song is pretty sick.

well idk about the halo references in ETF because quite truthfully they could relate to something else other than just halo as for in headshot its just bland in your face halo lyrics

I listened to Headshot! and it sounds like A Plea for Purging.

There's a lot less noodling though. As I remeber it, Headshot was just boring breakdowns and the vocalist screaming about killing covenant, not that there's anything wrong with that.

i actually enjoy The Guillotine a lot more than headshot but thats cos it has a lot more melody to it and imo the screams are more bearable, but i do prefer headshot compared to this war is ours, but thats just cos that whole album was shit

meh read ETF lyrics... they are generic... Standoffish, war lyrics, except for the word spartan is used in the second song...

ETF kinda blows, I cant stand their early stuff, and their newest is listenable, but is only a The Used imitation...

ETF songs do sound generic but in interviews I've seen with the band they have said directly that the songs were about Halo and Halo 2, but I do agree they are generic. Actually This War is Ours steals the intro to the game! That's an obvious sign it's about Halo.

I heard headshot, it sounds like a half-assed In Dying Days by As Blood Runs Black.

The vocals are terrible, remind me of Bjorn Strid's very much.
