If someone who had never heard Converge before read this review, it would be completely useless to them. I'm also gonna agree that it's not like past Converge at all.

How'so? He'd knew this album can serve as a good introduction to the band, since, apparently, they haven't changed significantly their sound. That's something.

But what exactly is that sound...?

Exactly. You don't actually describe the sound at all. Just say that it's the same.

In my comment I said imagine i've never heard Converge, of course I actually have.
Yes I can tell this serves as a good introduction to the band, but an introduction to what? A thrash metal band? Are they death metal? Are they progressive?
All a first timer could make out from your review is that they are a band who started out making music, changed their sound somewhat but have now gone back to their roots.
For all they know they could be a folk electronica band.....
Do you see my point?

I liked it, but I didn't love it. It was a good album, but It did feel safe. I guess the reviewer caught that, but it's a shame the reviewer can't seem to catch typos.
