Nice. This happens about one every three months. Celebrations.

I actually prefer the slightly more progressive and complex songwriting of this album than the obvious return-to-form formula of 'Christ Illusion', but this album can get extremely bland at times. 'Americon' and 'Human Strain' don't offer anything new, and are in fact as generic and boring as anything else slayer have recorded this century. However, the faster songs, being the ones under three minutes long in particular, do show that slayer still don't compromise, even if it suggests the and haven't moved on from 1986. The title track and the sinister 'Beauty through order' are good examples of how far slayer are willing to experiment, and also prove they aren't afraid to vary their sound a bit. Nothing is new here majorly, and they have shown distinct acts of musical progression on earlier releases, but with their latest, it seems this method is more obvious.
