as a fan of Nick Cave I can't see you not liking this at least a little
not that it's exceptionally similar or anything, but gloomy folk music is a wonderful thing to me ;]

Have you ever listened to Tenhi? They'd be right up your alley.

ive listened to But, What Ends When the Symbols Shatter?, Rose Clouds of Holocaust, and Take Care and Control. the first two are excellent, but the third one was just ok. KAPO will be the next one i get, then probably Brown Book

Yeah, Take Care and Control is one of their later albums. It's not so good, they get pretty hit or miss with releases after this.

have you heard Scorpion Wind yet?

No I have not. I'll download their album Heaven Sent now. Oh, I forgot to ask you, which album by 23 Skidoo would you recommend? One of the ones from the '80s or their newer s/t?
|
| |
well, it was known as Heaven Sent but was later repackaged as Death In June & Boyd Rice's Scorpion Wind, which is how I usually refer to it. It's very similar to Kapo! with that sort of atmospheric folk thing going on, the mid 90's are probably my favourite period for Douglas P.
The Culling Is Coming was my first 23 Skidoo, they only have two other albums from back then both of which I like. Their 2000 s/t is a far cry from this era, I definitely recommend it though.
