You call it excellent and then in your soundoff compare one of their songs to Nickelback. I bet you have amazing taste in music.

Atreyu tries to please everyone and in the process pisses off like 90% of the people that listen to them. When you try to do everything you usually do nothing well. Thats the case with atreyu and I don't see this ever changing.

I don't see how this is offensive enough to warrant a 1,5. If anything it's very harmless

but if it doesn't kill Atreyu, we'll be vulnerable for one turn because we have to recharge!

bloc did you even listen to the album??

however, anyone looking for good ol' screaming atreyu will be disappointed as there is none on this album.

(from your soundoff)

there is plenty of screaming atreyu, Stop! Before It's Too Late, Bleeding is A Luxury, Ravenous?? And many other tracks there is some singing by Alex alternated by screaming, Gallows, You Were The King Now You're Unconscious, Congregation Of The Damned among others, which you would know if you'd listened before you rated

there's nothing raw about the production. it's just the super scooped tones.

"there's nothing raw about the production. it's just the super scooped tones. "

I suppose. Tt's one or the other. Either all of the tones on all instruments are shit or it wasn't mixed well or something. All of the lead stuff sounds too thin and sticks out too much. All of the rhythm tracks sound like they were recorded with guitars with the muddiest pickups made. And the drums tones, mainly the snare and bass sound god awful to me. Pro tools the fuck out of it if they have to I say. Even though LSPA wasn't that great, I greatly prefer the production of it over this album's.

Also to the reviewer

"Stop! Before It's Too Late and We've Destroyed It All", is a blatant rip off of In Flames

you say they rip off but never what song.

With “Bleeding is a Luxury”, Atreyu take their Metalcore side and add an unnecessary dose of cheese to it, adding banal keyboard harmonies to an already tiring mix of chug and alternate picking.

Keyboard harmonies? Where? Except a few choir aahs at the end of the breakdown?
Chug? Only in the breakdown, which by the way was pretty well written. Most of the song was lead work, but maybe you decided to hear alternate picking and chug chug instead?

As if that wasn't enough, the track is also home to one of the numerous open string breakdowns that litter Congregation of the Damned

oh? I counted like 3 obvious breakdowns on the entire album (track 1, 2, and 3)
like most breakdowns, there are some open string parts yes. But it's mixed with melodies, which you seem to have missed.

Tracks like “Insatiable”, “Black Days Begin”, and “You Were The King; Now You're Unconscious” are all centered around soaring choruses that drummer/vocalist Brandon Saller just can't sell.

No way, verses and bridges are allowed just as much space in these songs. They are in no sense more "centered" around choruses than any of the other tracks

basicly, reviewer comes across as overal pretty ignorant to this album, having not even listened to it thouroughly
