This album is absoulte masterpiece...Jondur you must be smoking crack or something because there old singer was awful for Death Metal, the only thing that made Arch Enemy good before Angela was the great guitar work. This album is in my opinion their best, every song is atleast a 4 or higher...Best songs are "Enemy Within", "Burning Angel", "Ravenous", "Dead Bury Their Dead" and "Shadows and Dust"

I enjoy both Angela and Johann's vox.

Dead Bury Their Dead is possibly my favourite Arch Enemy song of all time.

An excellent melodic death metal album, one which a lot of bands are ripping off. The Amott brothers and the rhythm sectiona re note precise and technical, and Gossow does an awesome job on vocals.

Good review, pretty much matched my experience on first listen. Thought the album was two songs too long (can do without "web of lies" and "behind the smile") but I got the bonus track "lament of a mortal soul" which is a nice add on - worth getting if you don't have it.

ya, the solo in "web of Lies" is so killer, its probably one of my favorites, its no super technical but it just sounds so awesome, perfect fit for the song. This Message Edited On 09.25.07

Enemy with is the greatest opener ever. Angela Gossow is a f*ckin maniac. She should be the resident evil films instead of Milla Jovavixh, although shes smokin.

Yes sir. Man she could definetly be the chick in resident evil and kill all the zombies with her growl and her total evilness.

The album is excellent, but I don't like your review..you anatomized it too much, this is not only track by track, it's almost second by second :D

AoR is better.

Not even close. AoR is too simplified and the songs just don't have that thick feel like most of this album does.
