alright already!! metalstyles how many times do you need to repeat yourself? so pushy with your negative opinion and its not fair to tell people who sound positive that they wont enjoy it. let them make up their own minds. remember that skindred have been around for a long time ... and dispite all the bullshit.. they have done everything on there own..no matter what they do they always do it from their hearts .they can experiment and allow themselves to express all the changes and experiences that have happened to them through their music...you might not like it but bands do have to evolve...its fair enough if you don't like where they are in their current journey and you don't understand why they are trying something different..only serious fans will follow a band from start to finish with open minds and respect every move the band make... but just remember that Skindred are not trying to be anyone else, they are one of the hardest working bands in the UK and they definetly deserve some more respect for that. (ps i think the new album is pumping, energetic, colourful, and uplifting.. and it is going to do great things for them)

yeah they sure are funny. Just incase violetblue comes back, my mesage to him would be like this:

I am not pushy with my negative opinion, i'm only saying that people are better off with Skindred's other albums. Also, this album is not experimental or doesn't show any progression as it is just rehashing the same old ideas, only this time, these ideas don't work anymore. Skindred might be hard-working, but that doesn't mean this album is good because of that. Same old ideas, more softer approach, lot of meh tracks with only a couple of good ones: it all makes for an average album.

I've loved almost every review on sputnik and have referred many many people to this place and I have to admit I've only been a spectator of this site but I think the 2.5s on this album is a definite underscore of how powerful this album is. I really think I should give it a 4.5 but it isn't the same energy as their previous work and I can understand the let down.

-Stand For Something ... a fantastic song. I tag this song alone as a 4.5 solid
-You Can't Stop It... very reminiscent of their previous songs. I'll keep this hovering at a 4
-Electric Avenue... I thought this song was a bit out of place at first but then realized it's probably me that's out of place. I liked it at a 3.5 I guess but after this http://lineout.thestranger.com/2007/12/electric_avenue_by_eddie_grant I'll admit my ignorance and give it a 4. The song means something different to me now
-Corrupted and Who are you? ... Think people are getting ADHD if you can't tag these song as a 3+
-Days Like These .... c'mon, stop being jaded... we don't need none of that, we don't need none of that... is everyone searching for obscurity that we can't allow an easier accepted sound to emanate. I'll tone down to a 4 on this song only because it seems like it could be written off as an easy song. I try to compromise.
-Invincible .... this is still keeping the Babylon presence but attracting more people so yes it can be received a bit too easy for their forte sound. 3.5

We know what Rat Race is and Cause Ah Riot and some avid fans have found Vampire Killa or Together. Skindred is capable of melting our faces but they chose a sound that starts to fill the room with variances of recognizable sounds and adds in some auto-tuning and people seem too quick to call it "lazy" I think. And in essence, Skindred keeps out of the limelight and keeps their style alive without deviating too far from their core.

If you aren't sold, try Calling All Stations one more time. Easily the staple song for this album. If you were expecting Skindred to stay the same, you're following the wrong band. 4 on this song, 4 for the fluidity of the album and 4 for offering it at such a great price and 4 because I'm just compromising for an audience that is a bit picky.... but from everything I've read, you guys deserve it.

The bounciness of 'Stand for something' and catchiness of 'Electric avenue' are good, but the rest of the album is completely lacklustre and devoid of any originality that made the band's first two albums stand out from the crowd.

I like this album even if it's really short and a bit on the safe side. The main problem was the fact it was incredibly rushed as they had to record half of the album while they were still touring and it does show somewhat.
