For what I know, Beside Myself is solid live.

I haven't much J-Tull live. However, what I have heard by them live is usually pretty good.

^Listen to Bursting Out. One of the best live albums ever.

Album is a great jam. Lots of gems throughout.

Easily the best thing Anderson has done since his throat surgery but for me this doesn't have the same feel or indeed the level of song writing that made classic era Tull so special.

''This Free Will'', ''Dangerous Veils'', ''Beside Myself'' and ''At Last Forever'' are all classic Tull. Top 10s or at least top 20s. Except maybe ''Out of the Noise'', the rest of the album is solid as well. It's a classic for me in its own right. I'd give this a 4.25/5. Also I think the vox are ok. I guess he adjusted all the instruments and sounds to fit the voice better.

All great songs but they wouldn't even make my top 30, which is solely down to the level of song-writing they have to compete with from Tull's classic era when Anderson was at his peak.

I still like Catfish Rising better, but this is good, I enjoyed it.

This is way better than Catfish Rising for me.

Another Harry's Bar is the best Dire Straits song that's not by them.

Yeah you're right. The band started to sound quite like Dire Straits since album Crest of a Knave in 1987 because of Anderson's throat surgery, so he no longer had the vocal range he once possessed and preferred to use the lower registers.

So what's next in JT land? I think I own all the great albums now.... Any recommendations? The one's I haven't listened to are Under Wraps, J-Tull.com, Rock Island, A and The Christmas Album, although I've been looking for that last one. How about live albums or solo work by Anderson?

Check out A next, it's not bad at all. As for live albums, Bursting Out is essential.
