It isn’t just the musicianship that progressed either, Chuck’s lyrics became more insightful, focusing on social issues such as euthanasia (Suicide Machine), blindness (See Through Dreams), equality (Together As One), and deceit (Secret Face). What’s impressive is that these issues are tackled with sensitivity and thought, never once glamourising or ridiculing the subjects. It’s obvious that he believed in the importance of these issues and wasn’t just trying to sound intellectual; his incredibly powerful harsh vocals prove this.
This is gold. Great review dude. Symbolic is Chuck's masterpiece still.

One question, why did you give this a 5 and not Symbolic? I feel that's the album that totally set Chuck apart from the rest of the genre in terms of album quality and a unique guitarist.

I just feel that Human is just that little bit better than Symbolic and TSOP, that's all really. There's nothing wrong with either of them, I just believe Human to be Death's magnum opus and a truly genre-defining album.
