This album was a little dissapointing. I agree that what they've done well, they've done very well: the sound is fantastic and it has some of my favourite arctics moment on it (end of cornerstone, final chorus in dance little liar). However the lyrical content of the whole record is somewhat dissapointing and you can't help but wonder where the singles will come from.

To me the album feels like a collection of B sides rather than an LP. It reminds me alot of Oasis' masterplan which I believe is one of their best efforts. I just hope they don't follow suit and release sub par albums for the rest of their career.

i saw a good review that said while the album is good, their fourth will probably be called a "return to form" by critics.

That makes me quite sad, those songs were FUN live, while I love this album I can't see these songs being fun live at all...

however Crying Lightning is my new favourite AM song.

Never could get into them before, and now there seems to be this strange lack of energy.

Josh Homme was the only reason I listened to this album and I loved it. I have come to the conclusion that everything he touches turns to pure gold. I have always hated the British Indie Scene yet I loved this album.

Oh and about the Sabbath/Psycadelic arguments? Josh Homme was originally in the Psycadelic stoner rock band called Kyuss, whose main influence was Black Sabbath (Who were not Satanic in any way BTW.)
