Careful Rudy, any time there is an alcohol discussion around here, Marko lays down the law like he is the sheriff. I get the feeling he may be very very experienced.

I think they are talking a little harder/stronger than a premium beer Dougie.

Haha, I was just about to say that you should at least give this a try because if you liked Emery's latest, you will at least like a few of these tracks. But I'm intrigued now. Hmmm, maybe a high rating for The Backstreet Boys!

Good Review. I dunno if this would be anything I would be into though.

Croc, I'd say give it a try. You're an accessible & melodic fella. I know hard rock is more your thing, but I still think the guitar-work & catchy choruses will win you over to some extent.

That's right Dougie, you study surfing, don't you?

Oooh, Backstreet Boys must be close. It's pop, I can feel it.

I wish I could study surfing!

More like boring, Environmental Science and Biology.

It's up now, and it's pop.

The thing is, I would check it out but I JUST discovered I love the Beatles so I got quite a lot of listening ahead of me!

Dougie, I'd discuss biology & the like with you, but you're still banned for the time being! :-)

Oh oh Croc has discovered his love for The Beatles. That's the end of the hard-rock run I think. And yes, that's an awful lot of listening you have in front of you, especially if it branches out into solo recordings as well.

I will, but the question is when. Haha. I wonder if Robbie is swinging away at drug rehab session #456,832.

Funnily enough It started with solo recordings. I was rather impressed with the imagine album by John Lennon that I found lying around and I figured if this is good, surely the beatles are even better, so I pick up an album and was very very impressed.

That doesn't surprise me Croc as I was insinuating there are a lot of those solo recordings around. Especially with McCartney and hs various releases. Then there is The Traveling Wilburys and of course one cannot forget... Thomas The Tank Engine! Haha.

Thanks Ali. Do not entirely judge this album on 'Children of the Night'. It was a poor choice as lead single in my opinion. In fact, I'll go on record as stating that it is the 2ND WORST SONG on this album! The last 2 spots on my Recommended Tracks list were between 4 tracks (the closer and Said & Done missed out), while 'I Love Myself...' is also pretty good. 'Children of the Night' isn't necessarily terrible and if you didn't like that song, then you're not going to rate the album as high as me, but it's not especially great either.

Davey! you made me want to check this out!

lately i've been on a new band binge. I downloaded three compilations from right here in Sputnik, and found at least one interesting band in each of them. so far, full album results vary from the disappointing to the "may want to review and burn this".

Please elaborate Titan50... Sounds like they knocked you back for an autograph or something...

Good to hear you're spreading your wings Pedro. Just like me really. With every revelation there are bound to be disappointments, but you never know until you give it a go. I cannot guarantee that you will like The Blackout as sometimes we 100% agree & other times we are complete opposites (*cough*12 Stones*cough*). Definitely worth a shot though and if you are looking for just a taste of this album, then the first 2 tracks will give it to you as they are some of the highlights & exemplify either end of the spectrum for this band.

I think they sound something between Lostprophets' 2nd and 3rd albums. I thought it was a bit weird that a relatively new band from Wales signed to Epitaph though...
