The Filth and The Fury!!! That's what my Sex Pistols tee says over a black and white pic of Johnny Rotten. The Sex Pistols are known as one of the greatest punk bands of all time. Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious are a dynamic duo. One smokes two cigs while playing some of the catchiest riffs known to man, while the other throws up on his audience. They are the closest thing to punk rock even if the album isn't as good as some of the others. "Los Angeles" by X and "Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables" by The Dead Kennedys were probably the starting albums for the original hardcore punk bands. The Sex Pistols still rock. Anarchy In The UK, it's still a great adrenaline rush. Those are probably some of the best punk rock songs to date too.
As Med said in my Dead Kennedys, Fresh Fruit review... "What's the best punk album of all time? The two most likely answers you'll get when you ask this question are "London Calling" by The Clash, and "Nevermind The Bollocks" by The Sex Pistols. While there's a case to be made for the first of these (even if the second simply isn't true)". Med is definitley right. In his opinion, Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables replaces Nevermind The Bollocks as the 2nd or 1st greatest punk album ever. I completley agree. Sex Pistols - Nevermind The Bollocks

The album begins with one of the better songs on the album.
Holiday In The Sun. It begins with a cool riff that is extremely catchy. You hear a lot of wailing in this one. That's good because the wailing is one of the things that makes the Sex Pistols unique. The lyrics are also as political as ever. This song is one of the best this album has to offer. Then the bridge sounds like a bunch of confusion. It's all screaming and crazy riffs. Anyway, this is definitley a standout track. Next up is one of my personal favorites,
Bodies. Bodies begins with utter chaos behind the rhythmic wailing provided by Rotten. This song is even catchier than the previous which is hard to believe. This song also has a really cool and great sounding, xylaphone effect. There's also a ton of profanity here. It is also hystericaly good when Johnny goes crazy and drops effing eff-bombs in the bridge. Then the song fades out after one more "booooodies, I'm not an animal"!
No Feelings with absolutley no remorse. It's a great song that has that freaking great classic SP sound. The chorus is also catchy as ever. "No feeeeeelings, for anybody else. Except for my beautiful self"! But the song is quite short and that kind of makes me a little mad for what a great song it is. Then No Feelings ends, sadly. Soon after a short pause
Liar begins. This song is too generic for me. It says Liar waaayyy too much. But the guitar riff still kicks ass. Plus there's a really nice solo in the bridge. But then Rotten whips out another "Liar, you lie lie lie, liar, you lie lie lie". IMO, it's all to familliar after the 2nd chorus. Then possibly one of the best songs ever starts. {i]God Save The Queen[/i] shouts Johnny as the song gets into it's verse. This song has everything. Wailing, kickass guitar, and great vocals and lyrics. All of the random things that Sid mentions about the UK's downfall is interesting. Once again, the bridge has an awesome solo. Then the song fades out wuth Sid screaming, "no future, no future fooooor you!!!!".

Sadly this is where the albums two worst tracks come in.
Problems is way to repetitive for me. Plus it's stupid subject matter to boot. The song just flat out sucks and sounds like total filler. I must warn you, this section is going to be obscenely short considering I only have one more complaint and I call it
Seventeen. This is about as corny as it gets. Sid trying to make a song about growing up. The guitar and vocal delivery is great but the subject kills all of it. Plus, the chorus is really annoying. It's boring and same goes for the verse. Well, that's all I had fr complaints.

Anarchy In The UK is the effing song that got me into this band. I remember I was on my way to
White Castle in New Jersey and me and my dad were singing this together while it played on the radio. It was a classic father-son moment. Anyway, this song also has amazing lyrics and vocal delivery. The guitar in the bridge also adds a lot to the song. Ths is the best song on the album and is my favorite from the band. I would rate this a five but I'm not doing a track by track.
Submission is the next song and it's quite slow which is good because I'm getting tired of all the speed. This is actually also perfect song placement for this album. There are also electronic sounds in the bridge, which is cool. Then the song fades out and we are now in the red zone with the next track
Pretty Vacant. Pretty Vacant is just a great song. There really isn't anything else to say about it. It's catchy and has got great lyrics too. This is a great song. The chorus is also catchy as hell. "We're so pretty, oh so pretty. Pretty vacant". Anyway, this is one of the best songs here. It's one of my personal favorites. Next is
New York. It's pretty generic but that's okay because the next song completley owns this anyway. Well, what this song has going for it is pretty much the tempo and rhythm. It goes together perfectly. Then ends with feedback and
E.M.I. starts up. This song freaking rocks. It has great lyrics and guitar. This is a great end to this album also. Knowing that it ended nicely is great. This my friends, was "Nevermind The Bollocks".
In Conclusion
This is obviously one of the greatest punk albums of all time. While the two middle songs were kind of bad, the rest of them were totally kickass. This along with the two previous ones I mentioned in the intro were known with this in the Top Three punk albums of all time. This is definitley still an album to buy. It is completley nescessary to completer your punk collection.
