I don't think I can stress enough the importance of listening to this album with headphones. A completely different experience. Bumped to 4.5.

^I second that^

The production is so lush, it sounds very badass on a nice pair of headphones.

i've listened to the stream a few times, but i'm still waiting for my copy to arrive...

i'm confident this'll be one of my top albums of 2009 though. the hooks in "Mientras la Veo SoƱar" alone are worth the admission price!!!

I heard one song, downloaded the album, and it's in my top 5 after one listen. Hopefully it as some longevity.

I think this is unquestionably the album of the year for me. Not only is it straight up amazing from a listener's perspective, but when you realize HOW this album was made it just adds to the awesomeness.
The Main tracks (Drums, bass, both guitars and some keys) Were recorded live straight to analog tape and then imported into Protools. They also only allow themselves a certain (and a considerably low) amount of takes to get it right and once it's recorded there is no editing. Same with the vocals. Done straight through, no clipping in. I can honestly say I don't feel there is a single weak aspect of this album whatsoever. When I first heard about the horns, I was really bothered. Now I don't miss them at all. Anyone who has not listened to this album (Or this band), is doing themselves a great injustice. "The Resignation" & "...And the Battle Begun" are both also mind blowing.

The burnt cd i made of this made a sweet remix of white lies when it got scratched. Glad I kept the real copy in the case.

I've never given Progressive Rock a serious look until this. It totally scratches my musical itch that I haven't been able to reach. It made me check out The Sound of Animals Fighting which I had of heard about but never listened to . Whats another good Prog Rock Band that is on these guys level?
