Aside from the shrill annoying vocals this album falls down in alot of places, the melodies are always slightly disappointing and when you need a pop hook they don't come, the music doesn't seem to go much further than rehashing 80's synth pop and the lyrics are often throwaway nonsense blended with pop cliches. I only gave it 2 stars cause i kinda like 80's synth pop.

i think this actually might be the best album of the past few years. i can't get enough of it.

standout tracks for me are "bulletproof", "i'm not your toy", and "tigerlily"

I don't care much for getting this but there are some sick remixes of a few of her songs floating around

Agreed mostly with neonSource, the recycled 80s synth pop novelty wears off and wears off quick on this album. Bulletproof is indeed a high point but the rest of the album falls far behind. A stylish flop.

Take 'I'm Not Your Toy' for example, the song seems to be building up to a powerful sing-along chorus but it's just not there, the chorus is hookless and tuneless.

The only thing i can think of when listening to this is how much better it would be if Alison Moyet or Annie Lennox were singing.

Bah. Album has hooks. And I wouldn't be complaining about I'm Not Your Toy, cuz there's plenty elsewhere to be had.

"in for the kill" is possibly the best song of the decade (after "bulletproof").

although i am drunk atm and reserve the right to change my mind tomorrow.
