I honestly think this review (and the accompanying fanfare) is overly harsh. Sure, Aiden isn't, never has been and probably will never be a musically "good" band. However, I don't believe that is what they are trying to be. They are trying to be garage punk at this stage in their career, and I think this album does a pretty good job at being garage punk.



Think about it like this: Would you hold Mike Patton to the standards of, say, an Italian opera singer? No, but that doesn't mean that Mike Patton is any less amazing.



And the whole "knock them for being emo" thing is getting old. It was a stage, and they have evolved since then.

I like "good" music as much as the next person, but I just don't see what is so bad with this album, as long as you don't hold it to the standards of something it is not.

So just posting for the helluv it, yea this album blows. The instrumentals are fun as shit! i mean i never hear skate-punk stuff anymore(i refuse to listen to ska.. ever.) so i liked that. but honestly Will screwed them over on this one.. again!

their last album sucked as well.. i miss when they used to be fun!

i remember watching a live video from warped tour of this band and the lead singer went into a hissy fit ranting about how they aren't an emo band and so on lol.

they arent really a good band. at one point they were, as in their first albums. now though, they are just trying to gain back fans from the 'wow factor' of saying things like "fuck you and all your freinds" and "fuck your god" and "i took this innocent" and throwing things like Portrait in there.

Its a disgrace to anyone who was once a fan. at least back then, they were just some goth-ish kids playing some music. now its just for gain. they have done what every other band does: release a good album, a bad one, then an over the top attempt that sucks(a.k.a. this album).

makes me sad. Will has become to full of himself.



what they dont realize is all this has been done too many times before to even get a chuckle out of somebody listening. Aiden, you should have stopped trying long ago. At least 'William Control' made me giggle. just cuz hes a gothy fag.

I really don't like Aiden, especially this album. They are obviously trying to be brutal, but end up sounding like a self-parody. The lyrics are very poorly written, the songs are very poorly sung, and if it weren't for some decent musical background, this would have been a 1.
