I'm not so much a DT fan as I am a fan of particular moments in their career.

Good review. I completely lost interest in Dream Theater several years ago. Will probably never hear this.

Been meaning to listen to this, but Systematic Chaos totally turned me off to hearing anything else from DT.

Images and Words was my first DT album, and its always been my favorite. Maybe you should start with that.

It's old, but its pretty much the definitive prog metal release.



It's not as heavy as their newer stuff though.

I'm not a complete metalhead, so that's not too much of a problem, so long as it rocks my socks.

You hit it dead on and I basically agree with you on everything. I'm kinda shocked theres actually a Staff member who would like an album like this. Also for real why doesn't John Myung play more solos....I always found his bass tricks to be really awesome...or maybe thats just cause Rudess/Petrucci hog everything and it gets a little tired some after a while.

I love this album though. Definitely one of my favorites in their whole discography. All around some of the band's best work yet.
